“I write entirely to find out what I’m thinking, what I’m looking at, what I see and what it means. What I want, and what I fear.” – Joan Didion.
WordPress has been thing with me for a while. I like to start by editing the content of the “Hello World” post so it offers a short summary of what I intend to publish here.
What
I own this website. It’s where I put some of my content that’s initially published on other platforms (ATM, Medium and X).
What’s here is only some of what I write. It’s not published at the same time as the original, either. Because I take any feedback I get and try to inject each piece with succinctness. I want it to be the best it can be, and I don’t want excess words in the way.
Why
Platforms come and go.
I have this feeling that it’s prudent to keep my best work online and available, somewhere away from third-party platforms de-jour.
Who knows. They may get outlawed like TikTok, acquired like Twitter, fall out of favour like Myspace, or pivot to some other purpose.
Here, I control what gets put up for public viewing. No algorithms.
When
No schedules. When it’s ready I publish.
